Training Workshop on Human Rights - Beirut on October 13 and 14, 2016 (Part one)

CRTDA organized a training workshop entitled “Human Rights” in its first part in its training center in the Museum area, on what are Human rights and equality versus equity. Leaders from the steering committee of the Nationality campaign participated in the training and worked over two days, October 13 and 14 of 2016, to develop their abilities through exercises and extensive trainings to acquire skills starting from the following goals:
-Exchanging ideas on what are Universal Human Rights and where they come from
-Thinking of when and where Human Rights are implemented: in the family, in society, and globally
-Examining the meaning of the terms “equity” and “equality” and their meaning in international law
-Discussing what are the possible ramifications for women when they are pursuing equitable rights as opposed to equal rights
-Thinking of what the differences may be between equity and equality in women’s education, jobs, rewards, ownership, inheritance, political participation, and other benefits like citizenship and social participation
-The protection that legal agreements provide for women and girls are divided into 3 strategies
