AGEEEL: Advocacy for Gender Equitable Economic Engagement in Lebanon - Overcoming Marginalization of Women

Project Objectives:
The project has three objectives:
(1) Increase public awareness on gender equitable economic engagement of marginalized women as a vehicle to sustainable development in Lebanon,
(2) Enhance capacities of targeted marginalized rural and urban Lebanese women and refugee women relating to their agency - through leadership skills, within the human rights, and gender equality framework, ;
(3) Enhance the body of knowledge on gender equitable economic engagement in Lebanon through research – focusing on women's economic rights in Lebanon and the ways these are affected by social and economic policies as well as by political and cultural processes.
Project Duration:
Two years July 2018 to June 2020
Target groups:
• Marginalized rural women
• Marginalized urban women
• Women and girls refugees internally displaced and asylum seekers
Project Activities:
• Capacity Building –grassroots leadership workshops, training of trainers leadership workshops, media advocacy workshops, training of trainers in media advocacy
• Knowledge Generation: research on marginalized women’s work
• Advocacy – advocacy campaign on gender equitable economic engagement in Lebanon.
