CRTD.A is contracting the services ofa Part-Time Project Support Officer for its Regional Sustainable Economic Opportunities for Women Project (SEOW Phase 2).
 
SEOW2is a regional programme launched by CRTD.A in 2007and currently extending to four countries, namely Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan and Morocco.
 
The SEOW2rationale argues that addressing and promoting women’s role in the economy is crucial for challenging gender inequalities and for contributing to women’s sustainable livelihoods. This entails the recognition and valuing of women’s invisible and unpaid care and household work as well as women’s contribution in the informal economy. 
 
SEOW2strategies include action-oriented research, direct project interventions at the grassroots and community levels, networking with women groups, training and capacity building, policy dialogue, campaigning and advocacy, communication and knowledge dissemination.
 
The Part-Time SEOW2Project Support Officer is expected to work until the end of 2013 (with the possibility of extension) and within the overall CRTD.A and SEOW2 teams in undertaking the following:
 
● Organising SEOW2 policy consultation and capacity building activities in the countries covered by the project
● Liaise with the project partners
● Develop research and communication material
 
The successful candidate should meet the following requirements:
 
● At least 3 years experience in a similar setting
● University degree in economics, social sciences or in a related field
● Strong commitment to gender equality and social justice
● Excellent written and verbal and communication skills in Arabic and English with French as a plus.
