Since 2000, CRTD.A has been working on promoting economic empowerment of women and focusing on the issue of the gendered impact of globalization and trade liberalization as part of its commitment to mainstreaming gender into economic policies.

Following an initial phase consisting of assessment, capacity building and direct intervention in economic empowerment, CRTD.A is now moving into linking its economic empowerment work to the broader issue of gender and trade, essentially through knowledge and policy dialogue.

Thus, CRTD.A is seeking to recruit a short-term Gender & Trade Project Officer, who will be in charge of monitoring, following up and implementing both regional and local activities related to the current policy dialogue phase of the project.

Key Responsibilities include:
Hands on implementation of project activities
►Liaison with international, regional and local stakeholders and partners
►Systematic monitoring of Gender and Trade news and updates in the Machreq & Maghreb countries, through gathering of data and information
►Reporting of activities at all levels
►Working as part of the CRTD.A team

Needed Skills:
►University degree in economics, social sciences or relevant field
►At least 2 years experience in working with NGOs in policy and advocacy work
►Computer literate, thorough knowledge of MS Word and other computer software applications in use
►Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic
►Commitment to gender equality and social justice

Self and Social Betterment Association (S.S.B.A) is a
nongovernmental Lebanese organization. It has been working since 2006 on promoting
standard morals and ethics among youth and kids in the Lebanese community
through its two projects:” The Way to Happiness” and “The Youth Rights.”

Through the last two years SSBA team was implementing the
first phase of its projects, through:

  • contacting the largest number of contacts related to different governmental and non
    governmental institutions, such as: Schools, Scouts, Sport clubs,
    international and local organizations, etc….It also implemented some
    activities and workshops with youth and kids in different institutions
    such as: Red Cross, SOS, Lebanese University, Private Schools, business
    cooperation etc..
  • Distributing more than (180, 000) one hundred eighty thousand copies of The Way to
    Happiness Booklet(TWTH), all over Lebanon, to the different sectors
    mentioned above.

After hundreds of meetings, SSBA has to move to the second
phase of its plans by implementing various activities, especially those
requested from our contact list, and to determine a marketing and sales plan
for TWTH booklet.

Thus, SSBA is seeking to expand its core team and recruit a
"Sales and Marketing Officer", motivated and energetic.

Key responsibilities

  • Determine a sales and Marketing plan overseeing the association vision.
  • Communicate efficiently with businesses cooperation.
  • Contacting then following up bookshops and libraries interested in selling TWTH booklet.
  • Reporting activities at all levels.

Skills required

  • University degree in marketing or any relevant field.
  • Computer and
    internet literate.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic. French is a plus.
  • The ability to be a team member.
  • The ability to persuade and project the ideals of SSBA.

Key responsibilities:

  • To prepare monthly financial statements and
    monthly internal forecast budget
  • To implement financial policies and
    procedures
  • To Monitor cash reserves and prepare bank
    statements
  • To prepare the payroll and personnel
    administration
  • To assist the Executive Director with the
    annual audit
  • To maintain timely and accurate financial
    files and records by monitoring the accounts payable/receivable systems.
  • To verify annual leave records
  • To Develop a procurement policy and insure
    its implementation
  • To prepare financial reports for donors

 

Knowledge, experience and skills:

  • Relevant academic degrees and two years work experience

CRTD.A is recruiting a short-term consultant to contribute to its ICT4SD project aiming at strengthening the capacity and technical skills of local development actors so as to enable them to use ICT for knowledge development and thus contribute to the broader social and community development process in various parts of the country. The project places particular attention on supporting local women’s ICT capacity in rural areas

The consultant is required to:
a- Follow up on field assessment and plan for ICT training activities based on that assessment
b- Implement and follow up the agreed training events
c- Support the planning and delivery of hands-on training of women ICT trainers
d- Carry out E-search, assessment and compilation of e-material and links in order to build a data base of ICT development material

Background

 

ALEF is a youth-lead volunteer-based non-governmental organization, which aims at promoting and defending
Human rights in Lebanon.

 

ALEF in partnership with Naseej, a regional
program launched by Save the Children – US and funded by Ford Foundation, is implementing Youth Building Reconciliation (YBR) Phase

The project
consists of engaging the youth in partnership with the communities to promote
reconciliation.
It aims at creating a dynamic of dialogue and mutual understanding
amongst various Lebanese youth. A project officer is needed to fulfill the
following responsibilities:

Key responsibilities:

  • Writes down and finalizes the action plan
    of the project.

 

  • Takes in charge, in coordination with the
    fourteen volunteers selected in YBR-I- , the preparation of the caravan in
    terms of design and a collection of literature on the Lebanese civil war.

 

  •      
    Identifies potential trainers for the
    fourteen volunteers, establishes contacts with them and finalizes training
    contracts.
  •      
    Ensures the correct implementation of the
    volunteers’ trainings.
  •      
    Follows up in coordination with the
    volunteers on the recruitment plan related to the participants.
  •      
    Provides guidance and support to the
    volunteers who will establish contacts with stakeholders in the community and
    three universities for needs assessment.
  •      
    Oversees the launching of the participants
    and the facilitators recruitment.
  •      
    Prepares and implements the preparatory
    meetings for the participants to be held and conducted by pre-selected
    facilitators.
  •      
    Follows up closely on the activities of
    circulation of the caravan in universities.
  •      
    Coordinates the implementation of the four
    community based actions.
  •      
    Follows up and coordinates on the
    production of the documentary.
  •      
    Coordinates the closing event that will
    witness the presence of students and community members involved in the project.
  •      
    Overlooks the admin-finance aspects in
    coordination with the financial officer
  •      
    Ensures timely and quality reporting to the donor as agreed
    with the Line Management.
